About ISPA

The International Sail and Power Academy sets a single standard for recreational sailing and power-boating, taught by partner schools around the world.

Most passages start like this: early, quiet, and planned the night before.

ISPA courses are written so that a skipper trained in Vancouver and a skipper trained in the Seto Inland Sea share the same skills and the same vocabulary. Theory is studied online; practical training is delivered by partner schools that ISPA audits.

Certificates carry a unique number that charter companies and authorities can verify online. In several countries an ISPA certificate leads directly to the national operator licence.
